Striptease, by Chris Daily

This is an incredible comic strip that has a very interesting evolution both in storyline and in art (you can read the entire history of Striptease in a letter written by Chris, pictured below).  The strip isn't as dirty as it may sound;  read it before passing judgment.  The art style that Chris used varied pretty wildly from the start of the strip to now, and I really like the look he's currently using.  You'll see why when you see the original art below.

Example of Striptease original art by Chris Daily.  You'll recognize the top four panels as being the original art from September 29, 2000, the first Striptease daily.  However, also on this page is the art used for the dailies for October 3 and October 5, 2000 as well.  Chris has a very interesting way of doing his strips, as he draws "pieces" and then puts them together digitally (I'll ask him for his full process and post that eventually).

Signed Striptease print by Chris Daily, September 29, 2000.  As stated earlier, this is the first Striptease strip.  Sadly, the resolution of the print is not very good;  Chris lost the high-resolution files and only discovered this when he was working on this print to send me.  Some history about the strip, as described by Chris:  "The first strip was just a basic character set up.  It shows Max as being a cranky guy when he's drawing.  I'm like that sometimes, but rarely.  It also shows Max with a glowing red eye, like he's possessed or something.  I guess I thought that was funny, but it really doesn't fit with the rest of the strips at all.  Other than showing the protective aspect of his paranoia, it doesn't really work."

Signed Striptease print by Chris Daily, September 29, 2000.  This is a remake of the first Striptease strip, with new embellishments and editing by Chris.  He did this because of the loss of the high resolution files, and felt it was a good opportunity to make some changes.

Signed Striptease print by Chris Daily, October 3, 2000.  This is the second Striptease strip.  As with the first strip, the resolution of the print is not very good for the same reason.  Some history about the strip, as described by Chris:  "Another bad strip for continuity.  Max says 'Emily inks.'  Emily, not 10 strips later, is the writer 'practicing villain lines.'  She was originally going to be the inker, but I liked the idea of Max not being able to write, and Em just seemed right for it."

Signed Striptease print by Chris Daily, October 5, 2000.  This is the third Striptease strip, and the resolution of the print is not very good for the same reason as the previous strips.  Some history about the strip, as described by Chris:  "Max as the artist, and Emily being the editor.  I like this one because it shows their bickering relationship.  Also Max's joke about sinning being able to kill you is one of the few religious jokes I've written in the strip.  I should do more...I like making fun of religion."

Signed Striptease print by Chris Daily for the first half of the daily for June 23, 2003.  Some history about the strip, as described by Chris:  "The 400th strip, I knew, was going to ring in this storyline in a big way.  It's the big reveal that Naomi is a big fat liar, and that Alli had finally was willing to take care of her 'dying' sister despite the bad past.  It was pointed out by a forum poster that Naomi in black and Alli in white was a classic nod to good and evil.  I wish I could say I did that on purpose.  Heh.  I knew that Naomi had to make an emotional 180 from innocent repenting sister to total bitch and what better way to do that than to take out her own flesh and blood.  It's corny, but I like that kinda crap sometimes!!"
