A big mahalo needs to go out to a lot of people that have helped make this project of mine possible.
One man instrumental to "enlightening" me to the fine points of the newspaper comic strip art form is Mr. Jerry Deli, a man who I am deeply indebted to for helping advance both my knowledge and my collection. He has provided me with exquisite pieces for my collection, and has been a mentor and role model in my dream and desire to share my love of comic strip art with others. Jerry, you are the newspaper comic strip god, and I will never be able to thank you enough for everything you have done. Everyone, bow down and worship the great and powerful Jerry.
Another key individual is Mr. DJ Coffman. He is the creator of the great webcomic, Yirmumah!, and has been a blessing to me with the area of webcomics. As I described in my "About" page, I originally "met" DJ (via email, anyway) when I purchased the first Yirmumah! strips he created, and since then we have formed a great friendship. He has given me great inspiration and support in my quest to now collect webcomic art in addition to newspaper strips. He also helped push me forward when I was feeling discouraged after numerous non-responses (and negative responses!) from several other webcomic creators. For that, DJ, I am eternally grateful.
Let's see...I'm also very grateful to the following people for various reasons, and in no particular order:
David Folkman - Thanks, David, for the numerous dailies and Sundays that I have purchased from you. I think you now own the equivalent of my house.
Bill Leach - Thanks, Bill, for the great newspaper strip art. You've given to me great art that I haven't seen available anywhere else.
George Hagenauer - Thanks, George, for all the great art, and for all of the information that you have been able to provide. You have a great deal of knowledge (and art), and I appreciate your help.
Frank Page, creator of Bob the Squirrel - Thanks, Frank, for the great Bob strips and for the great editorial strip as well. You've also been a great encouragement to me, and your excitement and interest in my project helped keep me going.
Gisèle Lagacé, creator of Penny & Aggie (not to mention Cool Cat Studio!) - You are a goddess. Thank you for all of the beautiful art. Good luck with syndication! I know you can do it!
All of the numerous webcomic creators and artists that contributed to my cause and gave me words of encouragement, including Nate Piekos (Atland; check out Blambot, the fonts are amazing!), James Burks (Martin's Misdirection), Alexander Shen (Gashapon Shop), Jennie Breeden (The Devil's Panties), Jamie Robertson (Clan of the Cats), Brandon Sonderegger (Filthy Lies), Brad Guigar (Greystone Inn), Matt Bors (Idiot Box), Shaenon Garrity (Narbonic), Chris Daily (Striptease), Starline Hodge (Candi), Gabe Strine (The Zoo), Ryan Reid (The Good Little Robot), Tony Esteves (Cigarro & Cerveja), and Ali Graham (HOUSD). All of you have been great and very supportive, and I thank you all!
All of the newspaper cartoonists that have contributed directly to my collection. Thanks for being so responsive as well!
And thanks to you, the viewer. Thank you for visiting my site, and browsing through the gallery. If you at least enjoy yourself while you're here, then my mission is accomplished.
Have fun, all!
